Examples include wheat germ  agglutinin (WGA), casein (cow&#8217;s milk protein), peanut agglutinin (PNA),  soybean agglutinin (SBA) and tomato lectin (TL) have shown in animal  studies to be toxic to the &#8216; human intestine. There are few published studies and a bit &#8216;of active research on the role of lectins in food health and disease.</p>
