I am from Thailand so my favorite foods are Thai food. There are many types of delicious Thai dishes can be prepared very fast and have a healthy meal on the table in minutes that your family will really love.
Thai food is so healthy for you, because the ingredients are so good for you. Many of the vegetables that I use myself grow while it’s summer, in winter I can buy at the local market. Now I’m trying to buy organic vegetables for the most part since I also have my own baby food, as much as possible. Some vegetables that are used in Thai cuisine you will be familiar with others, will be completely new to you. For example, bamboo shoots are used in may ways for Thai food. Bamboo is used in salads, stir fried, mixed with curry and many other recipes as well. Another vegetable that I love is Thai eggplant, is small, round and green. Not your standard eggplant, sweet but full of flavor. In Thai cuisine we also use many types of squash, pumpkins, and various types of pumpkins. Many of the recipes calling for pumpkin you are looking for is actually a Kabocha squash in the United States and Europe. It ‘also known as Japanese squash.
Thai recipes also call for a lot of herbs such as lemon grass, many types of basil, coriander and cilantro and, of course, chili. The Thais eat more chili per person than anywhere else in the world. If you like your food hot, add a little ‘over Thai chili. With all the herbs found in Thai cuisine you get lots of flavor and not have to add salt and lots of sugar and other flavorings that are bad for your diet. I think this could be part of the reason so few cases of things like diabetes and other diseases in Thailand.
